Phil Hoyles

Phil Hoyles

Phil’s celebrity phone book is bulging, which guarantees his shows will be littered with VIP guests and name dropping stories to go along with his own style of music choices.

Phil was bitten by the showbiz bug at the age of 7 when he saw Les Dennis and Dustin Gee during their 1984 summer season in Great Yarmouth. He started to copy the impressions from their act and began to entertain family and friends. In 1985, Phil made his TV debut alongside the duo themselves.

He developed his own routine of impressions and entered talent competitions up and down the country. In 1988 he became the winner of the Ladbrokes Holidays Stars of Tomorrow national finals. Subsequently, he went on to work for P&O Cruises as a DJ, and then as Entertainment Manager for P&O Ferries. It was during his time as Entertainment Host for Shearings Holidays that he started to perform his tribute show, which became known as The Tommy Cooper Experience. He was the understudy for Jerome Flynn during the UK tour of the West End smash hit, Jus’ Like That! directed by Simon Callow.

Phil has performed his tribute show all over the UK as well as abroad, entertaining guests of Thomson Holidays at various resorts.  He has also performed the show during a Caribbean cruise for P&O. He has been a regular performer at the annual Big Cheese Festival in Caerphilly, Wales (where Tommy was born) and was also present at the unveiling of the Tommy Cooper statue in 2008 when he met and performed for Sir Anthony Hopkins.

Phil is also a seasoned panto performer…..oh yes he is!! Having performed for over 10 years in panto!
