Rob Charles

Rob Charles

Rob presents his much loved ‘Forever Radio Show’ made famous following his appearances on the multi award winning ‘Peter Kay’s Car Share.’

Rob began his broadcasting career in 1982 working for a local hospital Radio Station at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester. By 1986 Rob got his first paid Radio shift. This was presenting the breakfast show on a station in Southern Ireland called Radio West. Later in the same year Rob went to work for the Voice of Peace in a very sunny Israel. After just under 6 months Rob left Israel to be a presenter on another great pirate radio station Radio Caroline on board the Ross Revenge in the English Channel. The owner Ronan O'Reilly who employed famous DJ’s such as Dave Lee Travis, Tony  Blackburn & Johnny Walker, called Rob a sophisticated Northerner.

In 1998, Rob was one of the original line up on Century Radio, now known as Heart Radio, and he has presented the breakfast shows on Magic FM and Rock FM.

Rob can also be heard as the voice of Mike on Peter Kay's Bafta award winning comedy Car Share and he has been inundated with requests to get the popular fictional station on air including Gary Barlow.

Rob currently lives in Lancashire and says that when he is not broadcasting he likes to search Car Boot Sales, Record and Charity Shops for CD's and good old fashion vinyl!
